Abatement Site Supervisor

Reporting To: Divisional Supervisor

Job Description:

Responsible for the smooth and safe operation of his/her team, helping the workers to meet goals, and mediating concerns with management.

General Duties:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Drive company vehicle;
  • Complete weekly timecard;
  • Hold company keys for shop and client sites;
  • Arrive one half hour prior to shift start to plan resources;
  • Other duties as required by your Supervisor.

Supervisory Duties:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Track and report daily timecard by employee;
  • Track and report daily supervisor log book;
  • Problem solve and address on site issues;
  • Minimize schedule and maximize budget while maintaining quality;
  • Comply with and enforce codes to prevent fines and interruptions;
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by complying and enforcing standards, procedures and legal regulations.

Abatement Duties:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Remove Asbestos/Lead/Mold from ceilings, walls, beams, boilers, and other structures following hazardous waste handling guidelines;
  • Construct containment units;
  • Post abatement personal decontamination and hygiene following hazardous waste handling guidelines;
  • Other duties as required by your Manager.

Demolition Duties:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Use of manual and/or mechanical demolition tools;
  • Application of demolition tools to remove walls, ceilings and/or complete structures;
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites;
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials;
  • Other duties as required by your Supervisor.

Training Requirements:


  • IHSA Basics of Supervising;
  • MOL Supervisor Health and Safety Training;
  • MOL Worker Health and Safety Training;
  • WHMIS Certificate;
  • Working at Heights Certificate;

HazMat Industry Specific:

  • MTCU Asbestos Abatement Worker Certificate (MTCU 253W)
  • MTCU Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Certificate (MTCU 253S)*
  • Respirator Fit Test

*Will train if necessary

Skills Required


  • High School Diploma preferred;
  • Valid class “G” Driver’s License;
  • Basic Literacy skills;
  • Understand industry code and MOL legislation;
  • Ability to wear restrictive protective clothing including face mask;
  • Ability to work in confined spaces;
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures;
  • Ability to follow precise instructions in a careful, methodical and accurate way;
  • Ability to follow process and procedures;
  • Ability to lead by example;
  • Ability to work in and support a team environment;
  • Commitment to being clean shaven for safe respirator fit;
  • Commitment to safe working practices.
